West Bromwich Albion have had their hopes restored with regards to signing Adolfo Gaich from San Lorenzo this summer, after his reported move to CSKA Moscow fell through.
The news was broken by Argentinian media outlet, Ole, and featured a statement from Matias Favano, one of Gaich’s agents at TyC Sports: “[For Gaich] to go to Russia, the contract must be much better.”
West Brom were linked with Gaich at the start of June and are understood to be keen on bringing him to the Hawthorns — but, as with virtually every notable transfer target, it will likely take promotion to the Premier League to be able to realistically attract any of them.
Adolfo Gaich has made 12 appearances for San Lorenzo in the Superliga (Argentina First Division), scoring five goals.
The 21-year-old has impressed with his general style of play and ability to beat a defender with ease; and was even awarded his debut with the Argentina national team in September 2019.
He undoubtedly has a very bright future ahead of him. If Albion manage to get in ahead of the many other teams competing for his signature this summer, it will be one hell of an acquisition.
