West Bromwich Albion are reportedly ready to enter the race for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, according to the print edition of the Mirror.

It’s understood that Slaven Bilic is the one spearheading the move for Wilson, and is attempting to convince the board to spend £20m to sign the 28-year-old this summer.

The Baggies face competition for Wilson from several other Premier League sides, including Spurs, West Ham and Newcastle.

Tottenham had been linked with a £15m move for the England international but Bournemouth are reportedly holding out for a figure closer to £20m.

Although Spurs would be the glamorous option, Wilson may be more interested in a move to one of the other clubs linked if it’s game time that he’s after next season.

Wilson scored nine goals and provided three assists across all competitions for the Cherries last season but despite his best efforts, Bournemouth were relegated to the Championship.

The club’s fall from the Premier League will likely see a player exodus this summer, with Wilson being the main target for many sides.

There is no doubt that Callum Wilson would be a welcome signing for the Baggies, but whether the board would realistically part with such a huge sum of money, given the current market, is unlikely.
