#2 Ozan Tufan

Fenerbahçe’s Ozan Tufan has been a name that has surfaced in conjunction with the rumours surrounding Vedat Muriqi’s potential move to the Midlands.

The Leicester Mercury revealed back in February that Leicester, Palace and Everton would be contacting Tufan’s representatives this summer after the combative box-to-box midfielder enjoyed a fruitful campaign.

Fenerbahçe’s number 7 claimed six goals and six assists in 33 league appearances this season, which saw his valuation rise to 20 million euros.

This valuation has since plummeted as Fenerbahçe look to raise as much money as possible over the summer and last week it was rumoured that Tufan could be available for as little as £6.5 million.

Tufan is incredibly versatile, lining up at right-back, centre-half and right-wing this year, although he’s most accomplished playing as a box-to-box midfielder, a position which is firmly on Bilić’s shopping list.

Often labelled as an aggressive central or holding midfielder, Tufan appears to be a far more polished product than many give him credit for. His ability to drive his team forward through midfield, his play-making ability in the final third and his goal threat explains why so many sides are vying for his signature.

The 6’1 Tufan is a presence at set-pieces but his two long range goals this season, including a 25-yard blockbuster in a 3-1 win versus Beşiktaş, is what will really impress the Hawthorns faithful. Only Matheus Pereira’s three goals from outside the area can better Tufan’s total last year.

The well-rounded game of Ozan Tufan is why he is such a sought after player. £6.5 million would be a steal for a 25 year-old who has 49 international caps for Turkey, but the Baggies will have to battle a host of clubs if they are to sign him in this window.

The likeliness of this deal is debatable, if Albion act quickly and can convince Tufan that he’ll get regular first team football then it could be on the cards, however other clubs that are interested can offer a more lucrative salary which could hamper West Brom’s chances of getting this deal over the line.
