Queen Park Rangers will now look to lower the price for Eberechi Eze in order to auction him off to interested clubs, after the side received no offers matching their £20m asking price.

This news comes from Alan Nixon, journalist for The Sun, who responded to our questions posed to him on Twitter this afternoon.

Firstly, we asked if West Brom are still interested in Eberechi Eze, to which he responded ‘Depends on price’:

QPR’s initial asking price of £20m was not met by any interested club, therefore the Hoops will look to lower it down to a more realistic level.

Albion could very well make a bid if the price drops to, at most, £12m; if their asking price is any higher than this, the chances of the board pursuing a deal for the 22-year-old are slim.

Nixon then clarified the rumours regarding Albion being put off by the initial asking price, pointing out that no club would consider paying that, which is why a new auction will commence today.

Eberechi Eze is a 22-year-old attacking midfielder who has been outstanding for Queens Park Rangers in the Championship this season, scoring 14 goals and providing eight assists in 46 matches.

He is a highly rated prospect and is currently being chased by sides like West Ham and Crystal Palace — and, of course, the Baggies — but it remains to be seen who will end up with the playmaker by the end of the transfer window.
