Craig Dawson, along with Ben Foster, went on strike after the club initially blocked his transfer request following Albion’s relegation to the Championship.

The board were forced to give in and accepted a £5.5m offer from Watford for the 29-year-old defender in the summer of 2019.

It was a rather nasty ending to his time with the Baggies, as he’d featured in an impressive 225 games before he fled.

Dawson has just been relegated with Watford.

#7 Diomansy Kamara (Fulham) – £6.0m

Diomansy Kamara was sold to Fulham in the summer of 2007 for £6.0m — a fairly high price given that the 26-year-old had put pressure on the club by trying to force a move away following Albion’s play-off final defeat.

As many fans will remember, Kamara was a great footballer but had a tendency to be quite temperamental which was displayed through his lack of professionalism whenever things did not go his way.

The Senegal international had scored a respectable 23 goals for the Baggies in his final season with the club in the Championship and had caught the eye of West Ham, but it would be the Cottagers who ultimately secured his signature.
