#6 Callum Morton

Callum Morton tore up League Two in the few months he was there, winning promotion with Northampton Town and scoring three in three during the playoffs to add to his five goals scored in nine games during the regular season.

Originally part of the Yeovil Town academy, we think Morton could do with another season at Northampton after he signs an extension to his contract at Albion.

If he manages to replicate last season’s goalscoring form at his next club, we are sure the first team isn’t too far away from his grasp.

#5 Alex Palmer

Plymouth Argyle, who won promotion this season with Alex Palmer between the sticks, are likely to want him back next season, given just how crucial he was to the side throughout the campaign.

Some want Palmer to stay and fight for a place in the Albion first team against Johnstone, whereas others want him to have another year at Plymouth on loan to be fully prepared for his expected step up to the senior side.

Palmer will turn 24 years old by the beginning of next season so is by far one of the oldest on this list, but goalkeepers can last in football until their late thirties, so he has a lot longer ahead of him than the outfield players.

#4 Sam Field

The Stourbridge-born, Albion-supporting centre-midfielder has recently been on loan with Charlton but only made 17 appearances by the end of the season.

Sam Field looked extremely promising when he played in back to back games under Gary Megson but he hasn’t had as much first team action for Albion as many would have expected.

Field may use a loan next season to either revitalise his career at the Hawthorns or place himself in the shop window, as he’s now 22 years old and has only made 31 appearances in the four seasons he’s been with the Baggies’ first team.
